Terre d'Abel is a selection of the best vineyards planted by our great great-grandfather Abel.
Mourvèdre, Syrah and Grenache.
In 2019, Grenache and Mourvedre have expressed the best of our terroir.
Rich and hearty wine with harmonious but persistant tannins.


Thanks to the long-established winegrowing knowledge in our family, these 120-year-old vines show the true expression of their terroir.
This cuvée is only produced in great vintages, through rigorous vinification and ageing.

The vintage

2019: a very sunny vintage!


The Domaine is situated in the area of the CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE Appellation.


The terroir is clavey-chalky with large rounded sun-warmed stones, which diffuse a gentle, providential heat that helps the grapes to mature.

In the vineyard

For 40 years, we cultivate the vinyard with agriculture in an environmental friendly way. The yield is low: 25 hl/ha. The grapes are harvested by hand with a selection of the best grapes.


The grapes are slightly crushed and placed in a fermentation concrete tank. Long vatting time at controlled temperature during 21 days, with pumping-over to obtain a reasoned extraction of tannins.


The maturing is done 12 months in oak barrels of 400 liters.

Contains sulphites.


Big wine for ageing. In order to appreciate all the aromatic power of this wine, I suggest you to open the bottle and to put it in a carafe 2 hours before the tasting. Serve at 18°C.

"Dark in hue, the wine is floral, fresh, lusciously textured, rich, silky and deep. The fruits are ripe, with good intensity, purity, length and energy, finishing with sweet plums, black cherry and green leafy herbs." [+]

"Tasted blind. Really ripe and huge tannin extraction - a monstrously big wine! Dark fruit and heavy extracted tannins, chewy and ripe dark smoky notes. Hedonistic."

"Dunkles Rubingranat, tiefer Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Ockerrandaufhellung. Feine Kräuterwürze, schwarze Waldbeeren, dunkle Kirschen, tabakige Nuancen. Saftig, komplex, schwarze Herzkirschen, präsente, zart austrocknende Tannine, deutliche Mourvèdre-Würze, sollte noch einige Jahre reifen.
Grenat rubis foncé, noyau profond, reflets violets, léger éclaircissement des bords ocre. Fines épices à base de plantes, baies sauvages noires, cerises noires, nuances de tabac. Juteux, complexe, cerises noires à cœur, présents, tanins délicatement asséchants, épices claires de Mourvèdre, devrait mûrir encore quelques années.
